To go trekking is to take a multi-day hike through rural, and often rugged territory. To get the most out of your trekking experience you must pack efficiently which requires you to follow some basic guidelines.

To avoid getting too much into bacteria always pack your hand sanitizer with your toilet roll, so you always have clean hands after doing your business. It is best to use a hand sanitizer that requires no water to activate in order to save time and boost efficiency.

Pack together all of your essentials you will need whenever you stay at your lodge. This will make things easier to find and pack up up when you leave. Also if the lodge you are sleeping in gets to be too cold at night try and sneak some of the mattresses off the adjoining beds and double up for extra warmth. If you are going to be sleeping in a sleeping bag make sure you get into the bag when your body is already warm. Do some kind of exercise such as push ups or jog in place to raise your body temperature. If you get inside a sleeping bag when your body is cold it will stay cold, and likewise if you are warm.

Once you start back out on your trekking try to take smaller steps to avoid strain on the knees and ankle joints. If you are going trekking over a couple of days it is best to create the least amount of strain on your body so you don’t wear yourself out at the start of the trip.

Take half an aspirin a couple times a day to help thin your blood. This way it will be easier to go the distance and you will feel better when trekking.

Overall if you pack efficiently and use common knowledge your trekking experience will be a pleasant one.

A long walk in those new hiking boots before they are broken in will only have one result: extremely painful blisters. If you are hiking for a few days or more, then the blisters could become very problematic. It is therefore essential to make sure your new hiking boots are completely broken in.

Start by wearing the boots around the house while wearing the same socks that you would during hiking. This will allow you to establish if the boots definitely fit correctly; if they continually cause pain then they do not fit properly and should be returned. It is far better to discover this in the comfort of your home rather than in the limited comfort of a mountainside. From the safe beginnings of home, adventure out with your boots on errands, slowly building to small hikes. If the boot causes irritation at any stage, then take it back to the store and get a different fit; what may seem like a small problem can become much larger over an extended period of time.

The store where you purchased the boots will also be much more likely to allow you to return them if they are have only endured being worn at home, rather than suffering the wear and tear of a hike. As you wear in the boot bends and folds will appear and remain permanently, showing the boot adapting to your foot and style of walking. Once you are confident that those new hiking boots seem comfortable take them out for a more strenuous hike, carrying some additional weight to ensure that they are fully broken in. Breaking in new hiking boots is the best method of protecting against blisters but they still may occur. Now you can enjoy a great hike in the comfort of those new hiking boots!

Outdoor camping can be a lot of fun but it does take some preperation and equipment to make it a great funa dn safe trip. Probably the most important thing you will need is a tent to sleep in and store your stuff in if need be. They come in a variety of styles, colors and sizes. Most if not all sporting stores offer a good selection of tents at fairly reasonable prices. Knowing what you need before going to purchase it will help you in choosing the one that’s right for you. Take into consideration how many people there are and how much space you want for each person. They offer bigger tents and smaller ones and even offer ones with divided rooms.

They are available in stores and on line which often offers cheaper prices. The next thing you need to worry about is food. Cooking over a camp fire may seem like a great idea but it’s safer to use a cook stove. With a cook stove there is no worry about flame and fire, no worrying about rain and also the comfort of knowing your food will be throughly cooked. They offer a selection of styles such as free standing ones or ones that sit on a table. Most are propan but there are some that still use fuel or unleaded gas. They have single large burners or ones that offera double burner for making two things at once.

They are reasonably priced and more convient than using a camp fire. They are available at most sporting goods stores. Chairs are an important factor when going camping. You don’t want chairs that are bulky or heavy to carry. The camping chairs that are on the market today are great for relaxing, lounging, sitting straight up or even laying down. Find one that is made of alluminum so they are lightweight and don’t take up much room when packing for a trip. They are available at almost all sporting good stores at reasonable prices. Sleeping bags are important for comfort because a good night sleep is essential for a good day of camping. With so many sleeping bags on the market be careful to choose one that’s right for you. It’s important to buy one designed for what your doing if your going to be in cold weather than they offer ones that keep the temperature warm inside your blanket as well as ones that can keep you cooler. Be sure it is a good length for you so that your body is completley covered. There is a great selection of sizes, colors, and styles available at sporting stores for fairly reasonable prices. The last important thing is a lantern. Most lanterns today are propane but they also offer emergency lanterns as well as battery operated lanterns. Besure the light is powerful if you are going to be using it outside of your tent. You want something powerful yet convient enough to carry around. Something that is not bulky and is lightweight. They are sold at sporting good stores as well as on line stores. These are the nessecities of camping but it is not limited to these things. Food, safety kits, first aid kits and extra clothes are also part of packing for camping. When packing to go on an outdoor camping trip always keep safety your first priority. Writing a list to be sure you have packed everything you need is a great way to get organized for a trip.
