Hillview camping begins Friday

The campgrounds at Hillview Recreation Park in Hinton are opening for the season Friday. And this weekend is the Summer Kick Off Party. At Hillview there will be a movie in the campground at 8 p.m.

Boulder High senior camping trip ends with alcohol hospitalizations, arrest

Three Boulder High students were taken by ambulance to the Boulder Community Hospital for problems related to overconsumption of alcohol, three more were taken to the alcohol recovery center, and one student was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and released to her parents.

The weather last week gave us a peek of just how beautiful spring can be here in Southeast Texas. Cool nights, days warm enough for shirt sleeves, convertibles running around with the tops down and the kids still in school, what better time to hit the woods on a camping trip. I was not serious about the children, because they need to go camping with their parents, with a big emphasis on need.
